MBF is a personal-finance tracking and planning application. This policy explains what data MBF processes, why it is used, and the controls available to users.
Depending on the features you use, MBF may process account details such as your name and email address; financial records you enter such as income, expenses, bills, loans, loan payments, goals, savings, budgets and transfers; account preferences such as country, currencies and planning assumptions; security records such as password-reset events and active-session metadata; and support or feedback messages.
We use this information to provide the app, calculate financial summaries and projections, maintain account security, send requested account emails and reminders, provide support, and improve reliability. Expected or planned values are kept separate from confirmed financial events where the product supports that distinction.
Render hosts the MBF backend and production PostgreSQL database. Resend is used for transactional email such as password-reset codes. Google Workspace is used for human support email. Expo/EAS is used to build and distribute the mobile application. OpenAI is used only for the optional AI explanation feature after user consent; MBF sends a compact, relevant financial summary rather than account passwords or API credentials.
Production API traffic uses HTTPS. Account passwords are stored using a one-way password hash rather than plaintext. Mobile session tokens are stored using the device secure-storage facility. Server credentials and provider API keys are kept server-side and are not intentionally shipped in the mobile application.
AI features are optional. The MBF financial engine calculates the underlying values first. When AI is enabled and consented to, only the context needed to explain the specific question should be sent. Passwords, authentication tokens and internal API keys are not sent to the AI provider.
Financial records remain associated with your account while the account is active unless you delete individual records. The app provides an account-deletion flow that removes the active account and its linked financial records from the primary database. Temporary copies may remain for a limited period in infrastructure backups or operational logs according to provider retention and legal/security requirements.
You can update account information, export a Financial Life Report, disable AI consent, sign out, and request permanent account deletion from the app. You may also contact support with privacy questions.

This policy should be reviewed again before a broad public launch and whenever MBF adds a material new data-processing purpose or provider.
